Knit Magic Mad

Kinetic scuplture based on forgotten toys from the 1970s.

Exhibited in 2004 as part of "The Location You @ Now", an exhibition of Salvaged Media and Electronic Art in Beijing and Shanghai, China.

Based on a toy knitting machine, the Knit Magic Mad knit its way through the exhibition at a slow but steady pace, creating a tube of yarn whose length has yet to be measured.

Originally designed to be interactive, the plan was ditched at the last minute because the hypnotic properties of unceasing labor was far more interesting and effective.
